Back-to-School Tips for Families Moving to Idaho

Starting at a new school can feel overwhelming—but with a little preparation, your family can begin the school year with confidence.

If you're relocating to Southeast Idaho, now is the perfect time to get organized. Contact your new school district as soon as possible to verify enrollment requirements, immunization records, and school supply lists. Many schools also host open houses before classes begin, giving students a chance to meet teachers and become familiar with their new campus.

Help ease first-day jitters by driving the school route ahead of time, locating the bus stop, and exploring nearby parks, libraries, and community activities. Encouraging your children to join sports, clubs, or other extracurricular programs is a great way to make friends and feel connected.

Moving is a big transition, but it also brings exciting new opportunities. If you're planning a move to Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, or anywhere in Southeast Idaho, I'd love to help make your transition as smooth as possible—from finding the perfect home to getting settled into your new community.

Welcome to Idaho—we're glad you're here!
